Charging issues

Hi all, I'm having some charging issues with my 92 fzr 600. Put a brand new lithium battery in my bike. Start it up and it's completely dead in 20 min or so. The stator and pick ups were replaced in February. And the vr/r was upgraded and replaced by the PO. I haven't ever messed with it. Put the battery on the charger waited till 100%. Bike fires right up. I put it on a high idle to check out put of the stator. Starts at 12.3. As the bike idles it slowly drops to 8-10 before it dies (within 20 min) and the battery is dead again. Won't do anything. Now I also noticed that the vr/r was extremely hot. Never noticed that before but I never paid attention to it. I work for an electrical winding shop so I will have a tech check the stator tomorrow off the bike. We have special equipment for checking that stuff. So it could be my new stator but I'm wondering why my vr/r is so hot. Is that normal? Or a sight that that's bad? It's obviously not charging but don't know how the vr/r affects it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,Brian

Checked my stator off the bike today. Getting .9 ohms across all 3 legs. Leads me to believe that the stator is ok? Put a different stator in and still had same problem. So vr/r is bad??
Thanks

A dying battery and falling voltage at high idle and a hot VRR = a blown VRR. Fortunately, it's failed low; annoying, but not as expensive as a failed-high VRR frying everything in sight with 15-20v overcharging.

Thanks don. Been doin lots of reading on hear today. Thought that was the problem but wasn't sure. I don't like nor have the $ to throw parts at it. Wanted a clear confirmation before I bought the part. So I really appreciate the help. Will post with results after new parts are installed

Thanks don
