So I ordered a new start button assembly to fix my sketchy headlights and because I broke the button off of my old one. Got the new one all bolted up and wired and now the headlights won't come on at all. What's my problem?

Do you have a volt meter to test for voltage at the light itself? Have you checked all the fuses too?

Chris.

Don't forget the high low switch which loves to come loose on the FZR, it is an easy fix inside the switch where a wire comes loose.

Yeah I'm bringing one home from work to test it tomorrow. And would that switch cause the lights to completely fail? All other lights work perfectly.

Took the switch apart and cleaned all the connections and still no luck.

you cleaned in here?

the blue wire is the usual culprit, you can see how it has come loose. If this is fine, then I'd just start chasing wires looking for the short.

Yeah I opened it up twice to duble check, cleaned with electrical parts cleaner and still no luck. I cleaned the connector on the harness where the two lights split. I'm not getting a light on the dash for high beams if that can tell you where the short would be?

UPDATE: So I've taken apart every male/female connectors and cleaned them using contact cleaner and still no luck. All other lights come on, brake lights and signals work but no headlights. The high beam indicator does not come on either. It's not the old start button trick because I ordered a whole new assembly from the dealer. I'm debating wiring a new switch and relay off the battery just so I can get riding again. Much help is appreciated.

So not to sound patronizing but have you checked the headlight fuse under the seat? You wouldn't be the first person to overlook something simple.
