FZR600 USD swap, kawi 750! Need help, stem and so on!

Hi, just bought USD front end from -09 Kawasaki Z750. Complete front end including brakes, wheels and so on, that means my only "problem" is steering stem/bearings.
Kawi's steering stem is 35mm from bottom to upper fork bridge. I have no idea about my FZR 600 -92 sizes. Does anyone have good ideas with this swap, could this be done by just changing bearings?
Other thing is that the FZR is kinda on daily use so it would be a good thing if there would be "ready to install" way to do this so it would not take a lot of time. With that i mean is there way to make this a "One day project". Thanks already

hi,
Take a look in the
WIKI there is a section on stem swaps PLUS in the old mail section (use search) for " all threaded rod " used as a steering stem.
when i get back to base i will see what i can dig up for you.
Do you have access to a lathe /machine shop ? if not you might want to talk to Nate (AKA ThatKid at green workshops in the sites vendor section.
###EDIT
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=10679&p=91840&hilit ... tem#p91840
will help !

Actually i studied machining at school but on the job learning just started so i cant access lathe myself but here is machine shop where can i take it. But i would like to do it myself because i dont have too much money. Machine shops here in Finland are very expensive..
Hmm do you mean doing it like this?
http://fzronline.com/wiki/doku.php?id=r ... _fork_swap
That looks like pretty good way to do it in my case but is the thread rod strong enough? For R6 swap it says use 1/2 inch or 5/8 inch rod, why couldnt i use something like M20 (0,78inch) rod? And what about the thread rod grade? Is 8.8 good enough?

EDIT: Well after thinking for a minute why wouldn't it be strong enough, those bushings take about all the force? Thread rod only holds all together, am i right?
Im really sorry about my bad English, but thanks for answering!

K,
your english is better than my Finnish for sure.
The spacers take the force not the rod and if you want to verify what I have had to say on the subject google Tony Foale (he is a world authority on chassis and suspension actin & forces on bike frames steering stem etc ) and his bike have used them on Grand PRIX bikes I have tree bikes with rods over twenty years and never had a failure. The wike has basic assembly drawings if my memory serves. PLUS the link you gave.
