I own a 97 fzr600 and i would like to change the gearing alittle bit. I would like alot of more lowend torque and acceleration. I believe a -1 tooth for the front and a +3ish for the rear will do the trick? Im thinking maybe a 14/48 combo. Im not looking to do 130mph soo id like alot of lowend power. Wheelies are a maybe for me but of course im not going to get a 60tooth rear sprocket. If i choose a 14/48 combo can i use my stock chain? I dont wan to do the chain conversion just swap sprockets and be on my way. What is the best combo and what chain do i get ? How many links? Can i use my stock chain?

Just my 2 cents. But I recommend to change them all at the same time. That way they all wear together and at the same time as well. 14/48 combo would give you better acceleration. I went with a 14/49 520 combo and had loads more low end acceleration. It's all about the final drive. Anyway the more you go down in the front the harder it is on the chain. That being said 14 isn't bad. As for the number of links usually the kit you get has extra links and you have to have some removed. I used DID last time but vortex makes good kits. thatkid on here had some pretty good set ups as well.
