I have been in school so my project has been sidelined, not im back in business. I bought a 1992 fzr 600 swingarm for my 1993 model, and next week im borrowing my buddies tralior to take stuff to get powder coated. The color im leaning towards is black chrome. Im coating the frame, swingarm, wheels, footpegs, heal rests, forks, brake caliper arm, rear brake caliper mounting bracket, kickstand, and the piece that is between the two forks that sets on the fairing that covers the front wheel. Am I missing anything else important?

Depending on the footpegs you have it might be ok, if they have the rubber top.... the heel guards i would not powdercoat... unless you ride in slippers that paint will get scratched up pretty fast. Hell I've even worn the ...aluminium ?... thru on mine, I'm not sure how but maybe the forming process on those or some annealing process makes the metal end up in layers. Not that noticeable unless you get up close though.

Is your bike in really bad shape why you're doing it? I've never powdercoated any part, but have had some stunter friends do it on bikes they wanted to customize or had a lot of scratches.
I'm kind of a purist who believes if the designer made the bike that way it should stay that way, so might be a little biased. Of course I have favorite colors just like everyone else. I believe my 954RR's main frame is either the black chrome you speak of or a matte finish black. From the samples I see online also it's a pretty cool color. Be sure to post some pictures of before and after.

Black chrome in powder has about 15 colors. Whichever one you go with, make sure to know the vendor and color you got it from if you ever want anything else done down the road and would like it to match. Believe me when I say they are not all equal. Some of the black chromes I've sprayed through the years were just awful. Also, I've only found 1 black chrome that doesn't require a clear and even that one it high recommends it. So take that into account as far as another step or added cost. I also feel like thats way too much of one color. Frame/swingarm/bits for swingarm, fork legs... all one color ok. Wheels should be different. Here's a sample of an R1 I did.



A little pop for accent colors always looks nice. That's usually what I do the bolts or levers, shifter assembly etc in.


My personal build I'm doing I went from a black frame to a matte blue with orange wheels and an argento silver accent. I would take argento silver over black chrome anyday after using it. It does require a clear and it is pricey but damn does it just lay down nice and look spectacular. I even redid the shock spring color and the collars for the shock. The rotor centers were redone, master cylinders, brackets, etc. There is always a lot you can do that you don't think of. I don't recommend doing the rotors. They are a royal bitch to do right and if you are paying someone, it will cost you more than the rest of the stuff if they do it properly. These photos are intended to give you an idea of what areas you might be overlooking or maybe a different scheme. Not trying to thread jack you.

Yea my bike is pretty bad. The shifter and other small pieces are scratched to hell and back. They are also covered in grease and small bits of rust. It really gives me a headache because I have to strip everything myself because even though the price is cheap they Will not touch a set of tools on anything.
