I have a 99 FZR600 and have never seen how the back end of the seat is supposed to be attached to the bike, can somebody post up a picture of what the stock setup looks like. Just one of many problems with buying a really cheap bike

I can get pics later tonight is someone else doesn't get them before hand. But in essence you need to insert the rear portion of the passeneger seat under the rear cowl (you'll notice a tab at the rear of the passenger seat bottom side). Then the seat simply pushes straight down and the latch hooks on the metal striker on the bottom of the seat. If you bike was dropped by a PO, the rear subframe can get tweaked and the alignment of everything can get off.

Here's the rear seat tab and the notch it slides under.
This one you can see the metal striker and latch that locks down.

The front seat has two tabs that slide under the bracket that the tank cover is bolted to. The seat has a series of rubber cushions it sits on. 5 I think one in front center then two on each side. The rear of the seat has a tab with a hole that slides over a peg in front of the latch for the passenger seat
Picture of the rear of the seat tab.

so the front sits in there and the rear seat actually hold it down?

Correct. The front seat just sits in there and is locked in place by the rear seat.
