On my stock rear rim I have a 160/60/18. Would it be ok to move up to a 160/70/18? :headscratch:

In my opinion unless you are running all highway, I would not go with that tall of a tire. I'm sure people have done it and have not had terrible results, but I'd gamble to say they were not pushing the performace of the bike at all.

As a matter of opinion, I'd try to find a 150 / 60 series tire.

I do a lot of highway riding because of my job. Will it be ok if I went ahead and order it?

My bike is used for commuting. And I have a 150 60 18
I don't think a 160 is stock btw.

I think it will be a gamble as to whether it will physically fit without interference. I understand you have a 160 on there now but not all 160 tires are created equal. Keep in mind that the stock tire size is 140. 150 fits fine and some 160's but not all. Add to that the fact that you are going from 160 /60 to 160 / 70 and nobody can tell you for sure if it will work. I would not even guaranty that another 160 / 60 would fit unless it was the same tire you have on there now.

My swingarm isn't stock. Its extended 8 inch and my brake caliper arm has been modified to fit the 160/60.

I think one thing pefrey is talking about is RIM width, you have to really tuck a 160 70 around to fit a 4" RIM.

I thought the same thing until I saw my friends fzr with the stock rim running a 160/70. That's when I wanted to bump up to a 160/70 instead of a 160/60.

Well good luck, my mechanic would not mount it.

"bump up"

You understand that all you will gain is HEIGHT,by changing to a higher profile tire?

Which will make your gearing taller...which seems contrary to the reason for having an extended swingarm in the first place(drag racing)

When I purchased the bike, the swingarm was extended and the 160/60zr/18 was already on the bike. everything is how I purchased it. So if 160/60 is not recommend or 160/70 what should I buy cause I want a tire that will last on highway riding, and doesn't look too out of place.

Switch to a OEM swing arm and use a 150 60 18, imho, if your not drag racing the bike, no need for the extended swing arm, it will just get you added attention from the Leo's

Mine are bt014's they handle great, on dry and wet pavement.
