FZR600R Will not crank

I blew my motor on my FZR. So I bought another one from a friend. I swapped it out everything went smooth. But now I connot get it to crank. Push the start button the lights come on, everything works but it just wont crank. Any ideas???

Does the starter turn over. Check to make sure you are getting spark.

When you say "Push the start button the lights come on", do you mean the oil warning light?

Does the starter solenoid chatter / click when you push the button?

When you installed the engine, did you connect the heavy black ground wire to the engine cases?
