Jetting, where to start?

I need to rejet my fzr 600. I rebuilt the motor and she runs great, just looses power at about 6K. If i push all the way through the gears she powers through like a champ and has a good amount of power. I have cleaned the carbs and set the idle air screws right, checked the valves and changed the plugs and coils. I want to know if there are any places in perticular i should buy a jet kit from. Thanks in advance!

The simple & old fashioned way was to just increase the Main Jet one size larger. Pretty much all the small engines imported into the USA are jetted lean to pass the the emissions tests, so 1 size larger was usually a safe bet. Once you add a free flowing exhaust & air cleaners you really need to richen it up some to prevent the engine from running too hot.
As far as performance jet kits, I'm not real up to speed on those kits. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.
Good luck

I don't know what size that you need. You may have to drop a float bowl & remove the main jet so you can read the number on it.
I have heard that this place is a good place to buy jets:
http://www.jetsrus.com
I've also had good luck with SUDCO, they've been around a long time:
http://www.sudco.com
There is also the Dynajet kits that change your jets & the needles depending upon the kit. Bike Bandit has them:
http://www.bikebandit.com/dynojet-jet-kit?m=146519
I would hold off for a day or two if you are able & see if someone that is sharper on what you need, has a chance to answer. I would also look at some of the board members signatures to see if they have anything written about a jet kit in their modification listings. I don't know much more than just the very basics.
Good luck

Jetsrus seems to think they're special - I've never seen an aftermarket shop charge more than OEM!
You definitely need to pop open one of your carbs and confirm what you have. For a '92 FZR600RDC (Cali), stock is #107.5; without this confirmed, you're guessing, which for any tuning endeavour is both frustrating and potentially very expensive.
If you do in fact have 107.5 jets, I'd suggest buying a set of the next two sizes up - 4x each of #110 and #112.5. Sudco part numbers are 004-184 and -185, respectively, at $4.15 per piece. You do have to go through a shop or dealer.
Probably the easiest is to mix and match Yamaha part numbers, and go through Partzilla:
3G2-1423A-72-00 JET,MAIN #107.5 (what you probably have)
3G2-14231-22-00 JET, MAIN #110 - $4.56 each
3G2-1423A-73-A0 JET MAIN #112.5 - $4.65 each
Shipping will be $6.95
