ignition won't turn after getting out of "Lock" position

Post by Harrysf707 »

So, I put my bike in the "Lock" position (in my garage) after getting back from a short ride, took the key out and didn't come back until 2 hours later. Took the key, put it in, and turned it to the "Off" position.. Now the Key won't turn to the "On" position or go back to the "Lock" position. I've sprayed WD-40 in the ignition and worked the key in and out and tried wiggling it...still nothing. Am I doing something wrong here? I've tried it with the main key and the spare key still doesn't work. Anyone ever had a similar problem?

-Thanks

Has the steering lock released?
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it is.

Yeah, the steering lock is disengaged. I can move the handle bars back and forth. The wd-40 as of now, has been sitting there for 7 hours now..still no luck...

Update:

Removed and brought the ignition tumbler to a locksmith, apparently the tumbler was damaged. I don't know how..so I switched the tumbler with the spare one I had..problem fixed. :)
