Engine dies with choke or too much throttle

When i start the bike it idles fine without choke and with out any throttle. It's fine when I give it a little gas but when going over maybe 5 or 6k (not sure exactly where, there is no tach on it right now) the engine dies instantly if i dont pull the clutch. Also using the choke results in both the correct result and the engine dying depeding on where the lever is, but if i pull the choke all the way out it dies.
Any suggestions what to look at? Im thinking its got be in the carbs since the choke and throttle cause the same problem, but im really not sure...What do you guys think?
