My headlights only work all of a sudden only when the high beams are on. And they don't seem to be very bright like its actually the low beams. What could be the problem?

Check your voltage regulator.
I could be wrong. But it is a common problem causer I would start there. You could also upgrade it to the r6 version, if it is bad. Good write up the wiki on how to do this.

A failed-low regulator can cause dims lights, but it won't cause a 'no low beam' situation. Check your battery voltage at 5k rpm, see what the VRR and charging system is doing. Check you bulbs - your low beam elements may simply have burned out. Check the left and right switch clusters; the high / low switch is an obvious culprit, and the starter button cuts the headlights during cranking. Either switch can cause weird happenings. Check the connectors at the headlights for security and condition.

First thing to do would be to wiggle test the connectors at the bulbs. A bad connection on the terminals will definitely cause the headlights to dim or not work at all.
