What's everyone's take on running a 13/45 setup? I recently did this and so far so good. If it would just quit snowing now. Thanks in advance

I would say worst idea. The 13t front sprocket creates an extremely tight radius for the chain. This is going to lead to chain wear faster than a 14/47 or 15/50 setup. Just my .02

I'll say the same thing, the 13 is too small. However I have no experience with it so what do I know, I'm just relaying what I've heard (multiple times). As mentioned, it has something to do with chain wear but I don't know how much it speeds up this wear. Where did you find a 13 that fits our bikes, I've never even seen one. It must look like a Kennedy 1/2 dollar with notches in it LOL.

I did the 14/49 setup and my chain wore like crazy but just for fun the final drive on 14/49 would be 3.5. Your 13/45 is 3.46 and the 15/50 is 3.33 so the get up and go is going to be about the same but 15 and 50 sprockets are easier to come by and wear less. Now obviously they have more mass but come in Aluminum as well. But if nothing else let us know how long the setup lasts you if might be worth it.

So I have aproximately 200 miles on my new chain and sprockets and its already showing signs of stretching. I know the small front sprocket will lead to faster chain wear but should it be that fast? And does a new chain stretch this fast regardless of sprocket size?

You'll have a little bit anyway straight out of the box. My rule of thumb is to check a new chain before every ride and then adjust about every 100 miles. So you are right on schedule.
Chris.

I wasn't sure if that was normal or not.
