Quick question, installing fac pro carb kit

ok the main jets are 105 and the stock jets are 107.5 should i use stock or do I need to use the 105s?

huh?

they should give you a few different main jets usually.........usually ones that are bigger than stock

i called the factory pro hot line and they told me to use the stock jets(107.5) since bike is mostly stock.

They really gave you 105 in the jet kit??

Yes, I put the stock ones back in. I only used the needles and emulsion tubes.

I did get a 110 as well. Blowing grey smoke again, fac pro says to drop needle down to # 3 setting and lower floats from 24mm back to 22mm.

Dark black smoke = To much gas (Rich)

Light grey/white smoke = Burning oil or coolant.

ok Got my sync tool from banshee, got 2long 6mmtubes and 2 short 6mmtubes, does it matter if I use all 4? or should they be the same length?

In theory, it shouldn't matter, but I would make them all the same length for consistency.

Ok I think I got it done. is it normal to adjust carbs 2:3 by removing airbox? anyway I would have to pull ot off and adjust and see of it stayed level after airbox replacement.. How exactly level shout all 4 be? they were very close... What was your method of fuel? I used an autozone funnel but it was leaky. :mad(

I had to turn out the a/f screws to 3.5 floats at 22mm and setting 3 on the factory pro needles, new emulsion tubes, factory pro springs, stock jests (107.5) will test drive later to verify throttle response throughout rpm range, bike is hot now from running for almost an hour in the garage.

The airbox should stay on. You can reach the sync screws on each with the airbox on.

I normally take the fuel pump and petcock key off the gas tank and set the gas tank on a stool next to the motorcycle so it can still feed the bike.

Get them as close as you can.

What about the center adjustment screw? on the thottle return bracket there is a spring adjustment screw. it seemed to adjust 2 and 3 closer. it that not what thats for? its def not reachable without airbox removed.

I think its done. It has friction zone!!!! before it would just die when trying to ease into first gear. Now it accelerates like a scalded ape to at least 7-8k.It is night and day to the way it was running before. It does have slight bog after starting from stop sign but its likely my clutch control, but after its like one long rpm band.

I drove it to work tonight and it was perfect. 30 miles one way and it had a ton of acceleration. Even in 6th gear.
