FZR 600-elbows in mirrors-need replacement

I just recently bought a 1990 FZR 600. When I am wearing my riding or my leather jacket (which is most of the time), all that I can see in the mirrors are my elbows. The mirrors are totally useless. Unless I lift my arm completely up in the air and take my hand off of the grip, I can't see anything behind me. And that is not always convenient or safe. I want to replace the mirrors with ones that stick out far enough to actually work all the time. Does anyone know of an aftermarket brand or ones from another year/model/brand of bike that will match up with the bolt holes on the FZR?
Thanks for your help,
cyclestone

The quick way is to switch the mirrors. That will give you a little more visibility behind you. YZF600R (Not R6) Mirrors will bolt right up. They are bigger and make a big improvement over the stock "Mickey Mouse Ears". Mirrors from other bikes will fit in the stock mirror bases as well. For example I have GSXR mirrors bolted in the FZR bases shimmed with washers on my FZR.
Hope that helps.

I went with these
ebay cheapies two years ago and they're still holding together great. Visibility is great, no more elbows.

I have really wide shoulders but found that the off-brand YZF600 black mirrors look good and do the job without breaking the bank.

Personally never thought they matched the fzr lines very well.

I see ok with my mirrors. I mainly only worry about the cars I am passing. I can see, with a little leaning left or right, everything behind me.

I've seen other people, like sweek, put up mirrors that actually stick out enough to see around you.
Zero's might also be that way. The YZF mirrors are nice, but you still have to move your head to see around your elbows.

r1 mirrors let you see a ton but they look funny.....
and you have to drill a hole for them to mount up

Has anyone tried the ones that attach to the clip-on ends? Not sure what they would look like, but should be able to get around the elbows.......

I tried the bar end style as well. There's a lot of vibration going through those clips (hence the heavy bar end weights) and unless you fill them with bird shot and silicone you wouldn't be able to see out of them anyway.
