fzr 1000 exup valve removal

Post by CharliePower »

This is my first time on any forum but i bought an fzr 1000 a few days ago in amazing condition, completly restored, everything profesionally spray painted including the frame and wheels. anyway i wanted to post because my bike wasnt running very well, it struggled to get above 60mph, i searched online and found out that the exup valve can cause this problem. the main reason for this post is bacause alot of people said that the exup valve should not be removed........ my valve was seized in the closed position and the servo wasnt working so i removed the valve which took 2 hours of grinding and hammering and cut the valve away and welded the plate back on. the bike now runs great, very fast and smooth as anything.

so if anyone is in the same position and the valve is seized, just pull it out and weld either the same plate back on or a new plate. im very pleased with the results.

my bike will also be for sale soon as i live in camden london and this is no place for a classic in amazing condition.
