92 FZR600, first street bike, electrical issues...

Just got this bike, never worked on anything but dirtbikes (always yamaha though), so I'm a little unclear on what's wrong. My blinkers, brakelights, and horn all stopped working at once. After some research I found they all run through the flasher relay, but the only thing that started working again when I replaced that (for $140, might I add) was my blinkers. Switches are all good, ground is good and grounded. Does anyone know what's going on? Also, either my generator or regulator rectifier is shot, but I can't figure out how to test which it is and parts are spendy in my area so I'd like to know before I buy.

For curiosity's sake, what's the stock muffler on a '92? Mine is a "mully's performance exhaust" muffler, which looks and sounds aftermarket, but I'm a complete noob to street bikes so I don't know. :duh:

Any help is greatly appreciated, and will help me help others as I learn more about this fantastic machine.

If your regulator is shot it will burn up other electronics, so you should get that straightened out. Naeslas has a chart posted in the wiki that you can follow to help you determine if it is the stator, regulator, or some other electrical issue. It is listed as VR troubleshooting flowchart.
