did you check the air filter to see if its clogged up with dust etc.
ones life is the way it is only because you allow it make it happen.

it's not, it doesn't even sputter if I have the airbox off and I pour gas down the velocity stacks.

OK if you reckon that ceramic dust is not allowing contact. Lossen the plugs say a turn, then with an air hose (there is a hole on the side of the plug "valley " for water drainage ) in that run off hole blast the valley clean.
Tighten down the plugs by hand (yes I know you need an extension ) but you should feel an unusual scraping if there is crap under the seal ring.

What ever you do NOT over torque the plugs to compensate.

If you feel crap loosen and re-apply the air hose lots of pressure.

The hassle you have is that should you take a plug out and that ceramic dust goes in the engine it will cut every surface it touches as it is considerably harder than any metal in the engine
