You want to get a 2008 R6 which will be financed with no insurance and then you're gonna start stunting it

Ain't nothing a little work wouldn't fix, but it's your choice. We all had to fix our bikes in order to get it running right. Just remember everything needs fixing at some point in time. Parts will be more expensive for the newer bikes also. Just keep this in mind. Good luck with what ever you decide to do!!shredex wrote:Im looking for a more reliable newer bike.
my bike wouldnt even start this morning because the battery didnt have enough power. I have to charge that thing day.
theres also something wrong with the clutch or fuel pump. there is like a sweet spot for each gear, and I cant open throttle 4th 5th or 6th because for some reason when I do, the bike acks like its not getting any fuel.
yes but my current bike needs fixing up a little TOO often. Im paying more to have things fixed than it would just to get another bike!Dragon wrote:

Yeah, the market is flooded with people spazzing out to sell their bikes right now, BUT... i say let them stew a few more months (like i did, haha!) and buy the bike in February, that way you negotiate for the best possible deal. Plus usually people are hurting in January / February for overspending at Christmas, and this works out great for them, and gives you the ultimate bargaining chip.old_school wrote:now is the time to buy cheap... lots of deals out there
I dont want to stunt!!!!nynoah wrote:I would not buy a 2008 R6 to stunt with. Regardless of the fact that it is a high dollar bike. The way that motor makes power is actually REALLY bad for stunting. You want a good stunt bike - get a CBR f4i, Kawi zx636, of SV 650. You want a bike with torque not one that makes all its power only at the top. The newer r6's are like FZR400s on steroids. Breathless down low......
I think right before christmas is the best time... Looking for cash before the holidays.. I was really close to buying an 02 R1 last year but the guy backed out. He got a better offer after i won it on fleebay... (everything works out for a reason)YAM93 wrote:Yeah, the market is flooded with people spazzing out to sell their bikes right now, BUT... i say let them stew a few more months (like i did, haha!) and buy the bike in February, that way you negotiate for the best possible deal. im just looking for a newer bike that is from 2000-2008....thatkid wrote:Just stop for a moment and be honest with yourself. Do you really think you are ready for that kind of power on demand? Honestly?

I had myself convinced that i needed a 2000 and newer EFI bike (as you can see I now have a 94 that currently doesn't run). I even used to own one. This time last year I had a 2006 Kawasaki Z750s in my possession along with the 92 FZR 600 I recently sold. I no longer own either bike (although the Z750 is still in the garage but the other half's father owns it now AND I rode it yesterday) and I have access to an 07 ZX-14, that I put some miles on today. I must say being able to go damn near 90 in first gear is thrilling, scary, and in my case, useless. When am I ever going to need that much power? I don't ride like that to warrant such a bike. Don't get me wrong it's one of the most comfortable bikes i have ever ridden but after weighing the options and looking into the cost AND the fun factor it's not worth it. Then you'll look at my sig and say "Yeah you have a 1000" Right. A carbed, heavy, 94 1000 that I own out right. It'll probably never beat a BUSA or any of the other new bikes but it's mine, I can afford to do what i want with it and the cool factor alone is worth it. I see a bunch of gixxers, R6s, R1, Ninjas all day everyday.....But it's a rare occasion I see another FZR...much less a 1k. Now that's MY reasoning. You're still going to do what you want. But think about this, if you're paying all that money for a bike, and it's your only transportation, and you have no extra money, how are you gonna take that special person out on the town? You're brother's right..buy a car.shredex wrote:im just looking for a newer bike that is from 2000-2008....thatkid wrote:Just stop for a moment and be honest with yourself. the 2004 R1 is the cheapest bike they have there besides the most hidious and uncomfertable kawa 250's
well, I could get an R6 for the same price, but after sitting on both the R1 and the R6, I can say that I am much more comfertable on the R1.
I also tried the zx6,zx9,zx10,cbr600,cbr1000,gsxr600,gsxr750,gsxr1000, and even the gsx1300r, and yes, the ZX14...
if im going to be spending that much on something, I want it to be comfertable, reliable, and I also want that thing to be easy on the eyes.
