I have the manual from the site here - but the photos are a bit shaky. I also got a clymer with the bike, but I haven't been able to see a good shot of te underside on that either.

I'm hoping the rejetting was done. But considering the guy had lawnmower oil in it - I'm not all that confident. :)

Since you're the closest living member, we can learn from each other...

I've read some of your older posts...

The free 3 quarts of oil you got, those are bought from the dollar shop (not kidding). Go to your nearest autozone or pepboys and purchase 5 quarts of 5w30 motor oil for less than $10 (after rebate). As for getting the filter, you can use the Purolator filter L14610 or L14612.

For stands, I bought front and rear stands from ebay for $90 (including shipping).

You can also get alot of used parts from ebay.

Happy to help you out if I can...

Thanks CF. I will grab oil tomorrow. I usually use 10W-40 in the winter. Would this be a bad idea for these bikes. I use 20-50 for summer, but then again, that's on a 1976 bike :). Are you using synthetic with this bike? It's going to take a change or two to flush to junk oil out.

He gave me a filter as well, but who knows if it's correct. It does say "motorcycle" on the box - but I didn't catch the model number.

I ended up with a rear stand from harbor freight out in Hempstead. Works pretty well with the universal adapters.

I haven't thought about the front type, figured I could hoist the front up if I need to.

So far I've gotten replacement blinkers and a VR, and also YZF mirrors on the way thru eBay. Decent prices for everything so far.

I really want to know if there are any recommended adjustable clip ons for this bike. I would love to have a slight rise to the bars. But I'm sure I may get used to the Stock position.

I dont use synthetic, just 5w30. I also purchase that rear stand from harbor freight in hempstead (with 20% coupon) but returned it b/c it was too low and didnt raise the bike high enough.

As for the clip ons, you'll get use to it...btw...when I put my bike on the rear stands, I can't move the rear wheel more than 3 inches back and forth. When the bike is off the stand, I can move it w/o problems. Would you have any ideas?

The stand I got (the more expensive aluminum one - they were out of the cheap one) lifts it about a couple inches off the ground. Will I need it higher than that?

Not sure what would cause the rear wheel not to move on the lift other than something simple like one of the arms of the lift is getting caught in the wheel or spoke. I'm sure you checked that already. Weird. Maybe it's flexing the chain in a strange way? But I don't think that would allow you to move it the 3 inches. Have you tried it when you know the chain is in a different position when you hoist it? Wheel isn't hitting the fender etc?

Hard to picture possibilities without being in front of the bike.

5W-30 here I come!
