My FZR needs a good carb go through/rebuild (among other things :whistle ) but it still between 35 and 40 MPG and currently has 36K miles on it. My Kawi gets 45 to 50 mpg consistently and currently has 3500 miles on it.

IT's a said day for me... 399 for regular at the cheapest stations.. :( most others are over $4 now.. The good news! I'm driving my bikes more than ever!! I take a bike to work at least 2 days a week to cut down on gas.

I have a mostly stock bike that I am getting 48-50 mpg. Back when I had the 16t front sprocket, I was getting as good as 55mpg. :rocker:

k&n filter, hacked airbox, yoshi slip-on, lower gearing, shimmed stock needle(was and still lean i think). 35 mpg. :thumbsdown 15k. 5'10" 187#. different octanes and don't really see a difference. Must be some way to get the MPG up. I know I need a jet kit.

replace your emulsion tubes. crappy running AND crappy mileage usually mean sthe tubes are oval'd

I checked the emulsion tubes and they look perfectly round to me. Trust me I tried to make them look ovaled cause I want the problem to end. Do you think I should change them anyway?

I dunno

I think those dont look terrible, and imagine how hard that is to spot without it being blown up...

There is a way to check visually thats easier I was told but I dont remember what you have to do exactly

but when you open the throttle while looking down the carbs instead of coming out in a good spray you get blig globs of fuel spiting all over from the ovaling

:offtopic: Hijack! If I have the airbox off I can see the gas going in when I crack it open. Should this be a mist cause I have more of a non fine spritz?

Thats it! Damn, your not saving much money. You must sit in a lot of traffic. Try white lining!
White Lining??

I put new plugs in and it didn't change anything. I am going to try a tank of regular gas instead of premium and see what happens.

In my observation, regular 87 seems to make my FZR much happier than 93. Other people here will say the exact opposite. Who's right? IDK
