Re: Putting Speakers on FZR 600 (added Video)
I want to use two speakers and mount them some where behind the wind screen and I saw they make an ipod holder that mounts on the handle bars. Pretty cool. Im confused on the amp/pc thingy though. you talking about the card? Pics would help. Im getting old and cant retain much knowledge without pics.

but the chip is the thing that the volume nob connects to in a computer speaker. the chip is also what all the wires are connected to.
when you take apart your computer speaker youll see it. its a chip that all the wires are soldered to.
just take apart a computer speaker and youll see

I think what he is talking about is the actual speaker you turn on when you are sitting at your desktop, i think he hacked it open cause they have on off switches and vol control????????

I gotcha. At first I thought you meant something like a sound card or something. Its the actual desk top speaker. Cool. I have a few lying around. If you were to add an amp you would need power to it. That would not be hard to do. I have lots of space on the intruder. Thanks for the great idea.

yea, My computer speakers were powered by a 12v dc plug that plugs into the wall, so all I had to do is cut it and connect it to the battery. easy!95FZR600 wrote:I gotcha. Oh it still would. Professionally done for a look. Soundwise, there isn't enough room on a bike to effectively let sound waves travel far enough to sound good. Subs have specific size requirements on boxes for a reason. Midrange and woofers do as well but most people ignore them and install in factory locations that aren't sealed anyhow. You can get open air drivers, and most are design this way, but you still need something to reflect back sound. The speakers in that bike are probably capped right behind the magnet which gives no movement and no good sound.PIMPMYFZR wrote: if that was professionally done , i doubt it sounds like crap .. would never rock a bike with all those speakers but ill pimp the hell out the bike tho

you're right, i've forgotten half of what i used to know about acoustics and speaker design, but i still remember enough to know that that bike's stereo probably sounds like poop.
if you think about it.......... why not just build a frame and put a battery in it and do the same thing to our mountain bikes ?? At what point does anything like this just become plain stupid ? I guess everyone has their own agenda of goofy.
That said, the small 5x7 underseat install that SHREDEX did is probably fine for chillin' in a parking lot, plus it doesn't look like he spent a lot of money doing it........ the green bike shown above just screams out to thieves "STEAL ME PLEASE!"
Personally i just like to hear the wind and engine / exhaust when i ride.
i get enough music at work, in the car and at home.
