Well, got the carbs mostly sorted out. I got all of the wiring back in, cooling system together and carbs installed. I may have a slight problem with the choke tubes but we will see. Got her to start yesterday at about 11. That was enough for me. I'll sort out the idle and sync next weekend. I'm impatiently waiting for my fairings to come in...

I'm not very happy with how the frame turned out to be honest. Wished I had used a different type of paint.

If you want to repaint it again and are looking for a proper Color just try RAL 9006 (="white Aluminium") which sometimes is also available for powdercoating. This Color is similar to "natural anodized Aluminium" and very very close to the original framecolor of the unpainted but originally adonized 400s Aluminiumframe (at least my 3BF as i figured out for repainting the lower framepipes some time ago)...
RAL 9007 would be "grey Aluminium" and looks some tones darker, which is also not bad,but looks more like a metalic graytone than like Aluminium ;)

Want Pics? Then have a look at my galleries...different topics: Bike and Car restauration, exhibitions, Trackdays (no, not me on the Track until now), carneval in cologne, other things.. ;)

Looking good!

I can't wait to get mine running. Once I do I'm stripping everything down for sandblasting an paint.

I'm not really upset with the color really, I mean the type of paint. Like poly, or acrylic or laquer. I used a laquer and it's super soft. After installing a few things, the paint is a bit soft. I can touch it up but I'm afraid I'll be fighting this the whole time I have her.

That's exactly what I did. I recommend paying someone to sandblast it lol and powder coat.

Definitely pay someone else to do that lol

I've been trying to clean it up a little here and there as I go but it's getting to difficult getting in the nooks an crannies. I just have to be patient now and wait for these parts to come in...

Ebay - Rear brake caliper and bracket, coolant reservoir, fuel pump
Amazon - New battery and sparkplugs
Dealership - new carb float bowl gaskets

I'm now realizing that I have absolutely now idea where the fuel pump mounts to and probably should purchase new fuel lines lol

Fuel pump mounts to the bottom of the fuel tank. There's a little peg that slides through a rubber grommet on the bottom of the tank. For fuel lines I go to my local oreillys to just buy their lines by the foot.

About to order a fuel filter and a quick disconnect also. Didn't even think about oreillys, I go in there all the time!

Sorry, don't want to thread jack here...

No worries dude. Anyone to talk to on here is ok with me. It's a pretty small forum, not many people talking
