Due to me crashing my 1989 fzr600 last month I need to find a new starter cover for the engine, as mine has a huge crack in it. Does anyone know of where to find one in the UK?
And also would this fit? (It says that it fits an FZR400):

Re: New Starter cover needed
Its the later 3TJ/4JH shape externally but they will fit and work if machined correctly.
We were waiting on another forum to see who was going to be the guinea pig for these Chinese copies; looks like you're it !
Here's a cheaper one... look !

Cheers for that. It's ok I found a second hand original one from a fzr400 from the UK, as I was worried about having to insert the bearing into the Chinese copy. Sorry to disappoint and not be the guinea pig. I'll report back as to whether it fits onto my fzr600.

You don,t need to; we all know that the 400/600 casings interchange.
The old bearing drops out of the old cover if the casing is warmed even slightly.
Same goes for insertion into new case.
A new bearing costs £2.88.

Re: New Starter cover needed
So I've got the new starter cover on the bike and now the bike will not start!!!
I turn the ignition on and can't hear the fuel pump priming. Which is odd, as I've never had this issue before.
When I hit the starter button the starter motor just makes a whirring noise. The bike isn't even trying to turn over.
Any suggestions? All that I changed was the starter cover and put fresh oil in the bike.
I've taken off the starter solenoid and given it a good clean, as the contacts were corroded slightly. Could the solenoid be the issue?
Cheers
Chris
