few q's before i do a clutch swap/shift kit

Post by pointybum »

Any fancy tools needed like a impact or something. I have normal hand tools and torque wrench and i think thats all i need but i want to make sure before i tackle it(it must be done in a weekend. bike is my daily).

i was reading up on the shift kit and everyone seems to agree its best to take off the oil pump to get to the shifter arm better. i just wanted to make sure this was the correct gasket that i would need to replace(when i take off the pump)

#10 in the blow apart pick
part number 1WG-13329-00-00

i guess what is making me skeptical it is the right part is the whole "1wg" thing in the part number. Long shot i know but i take it the 400 and 600 share the same oil pump...or at least the gasket?

Don't worry about the 1WG prefix.
First built in 86 ; loads of 1WG parts were carried on to the later and larger capacity models.

I think if you look at your dogbones; you will see 1WG clearly stamped into them as an example.
