JT chains?

I've searched for a couple days now and havent read anything about people liking or disliking JT's chains. My 600 came with a 14/45 520 setup but the vortex rear sprocket broke a rear tooth.

So i am going back to stock and ordered JT 15 and 45 steel sprockets. I also ordered the JT 530 Xring chain. The specs seem to be up to par and people tend to like the other products from JT so i figured why not. Its odd that there are just no reviews on it anywhere. Did JT just recently release chains in their sales lineup?

If anything, ill update you guys on how the chain holds up and if i notice anything odd.

And why wouldn't you stick with a 520 setup?

Chains appear to be a relatively new addition to the JT range.

I suspect they will not be manufactured by themselves but be a rebranded component.

Reason why i dont want to stick to a 520 setup is that this is my first bike. I want to be able to start from as stock of a platform as i can. Get a good baseline down before i decide if i really want to switch back to a 520. That way i know what these changes will actually feel like. Maybe im doing it wrong, but thats my opinion.

Ill post up any findings about the chain when i get it, like if its stamped something other than JT or anything like that.

So i got the chain, installed it along with the other JT sprockets. No problems. Ive run about 500 miles so far. Did the slack adjustment around 300 miles and i cant complain.

here are some pictures of the chain links i broke off, for reference i suppose. Oh, and this chain is a Thailand made chain, not Japanese. I couldnt find out online where it was made, so now i know. Also, as to why i went with JT everything? I was able to get a good deal for the sprockets and chain for about 135, so i couldnt pass it up.













Last thing, Maybe im just a noob at breaking chains, but how are you suppose to break the chain (i used the proper tool) and not have one end of the link be bent out a little. I just carefully hammered it back so the two sides were parallel. Seems to be okay now and i didnt run into any other issues.

Ill make a post when i get some more mileage on it to see how its holding up.

Once you grind the heads off the pins; the link should push out easily without distortion.
Keep the link parallel.
