Is the Avon AM26 Roadrider available stateside???

http://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop. ... =110&m_s=1

I have used these on a couple of bikes from a 350YPVS to a GSX400R. Easily the equal of the BT45 but I couldn't comment on lifespan as I sold both about a year after fitting them :whistle

Would seriously consider getting a set for my FZR250RR but fancy giving these Michelins a run out.

Man, this bites ass.

I justt bought a new Avon for my front this spring. Almost bought a rear...figured I had a couple thou left on it and decided to wait.

No one has them in stock anymore.

No BT 016s to be found either.

G'dammit.

If I remember correctly Bridgestone started making the 110/70/17 and 150/60/18 set again. they are now called BT090.

The BT-090 has been around a while. They are a track day riders tire. They are supposed to have a lot of grip. I don't believe that they are made for longevity as they are a single compound tire.

Bt 90 is not a sticky tyre like a Diablo Supercorsa mind ! more of a road tyre.
It is an O.k tyre ,just a bit better profile/pattern than the 92.

Thanks Rage, but all they list is the 160-18 anymore...them and everyuone else I've checked. The 160/70-18 is recom, mended for 4.25" and larger rims. You'd think someone would have old stock on hand

They have the BT-016 in a 150/70-18 for $121. That will fit the FZR rim nicely.

No tires to light the fires

Post by _Will_ »

Same thing I've been finding and I'm balding on my rear, I've run a 160 on the BT016 and had great turn in but now that I'm a mountain rider (as opposed to Fl roads) the lack of stability at lean is a big concern.

The grip from higher quality, modern tires is amazing. After dropping my GSXR down to the ground, going through a corner way too fast - my knee was between the gas tank and the ground - my bike came back upright maintaining grip.

Your real concern should be road conditions. Loose gravel is everyone's enemy. Cold tires on wet roads can easily spell disaster.

When you think your bike and its tires are at its limit, have a local racer take it out and prove you wrong. :grinnod:

Oh I know, my BT016 has saved me a number of times and I've had more than my share of close calls. Sometimes it seemed like the Florida sand was on a mission to take me down. Their biggest testament is how little they're affected by the lackluster and warn suspension.

These guys are listing the storm 2, BT016, and BT014 as available in our sizes, just charging a premium for them from the looks of it. You have to dig through their tire selections, it doesn't pop up under the fzr.

I have the Avon 150/70-18 and the previous-previous owner shaved/ rubbed off the side (I'm not sure which). Take into consideration that I have no idea how old the tire is, but I don't like it. I have yet to push this bike and I have felt the back slide out a bit on several occasions. I personal don't like this tire and would definitely switch the rear end to avoid buying another. It's not bad enough to keep me from riding it down some more, but when funds allow it'll get the boot.
