Blue dots for fzr600

Post by ratbikesforever »

I am sure this question has been asked before but i did a search and checked the wiki and could not find the answer. I need to know what years of r6 blue dots bolt up to 90+ fzr600 fork legs? I have heard that 99 to 02 are what fits but I want to be sure before I make a purchase. Thanks ahead of time!

Blue spot R6, Thundercat (U.S. YZF 600r), Thunder Ace (U.S. YZF 1000R), early r1 , FZ1 Silver Spot, and R1 gold spot are direct bolt on and will work with the master on the 90+ 600 forks. The best of the group I mentioned are the gold spots (pistons are Teflon coated). The others are a cosmetic change and no significant advantage over the stock calipers. The "upgrade" is in the master cylinder. Swap in a master from an 06 + R6 radial brake equipped bike and you're good.

OK I am confused. I have what I thought was a '90 600. That's what my original owners manual and my title says. I bought a set of blue dots to replace the 2piston stock calipers. But the bolt spacing is narrower on my stock calipers than the blue dots.

The '90 had 4-pot fronts. If yours has the 2-pots, then either it's an '89 or a PO replaced the forks or fork lowers.
