Try this: If the Neutral light is not on: Sit on the bike, Pull in the Clutch Lever, Put the Kickstand up, and Try to Start the bike.

If neutral light is not on, and the kickstand is down, the bike it will not start.

Hope this helps

How are you stopping the engine? Key switch, Run/Off switch, other.? It could be one of two things both are common failure points on the FZR's. First it could be your Run/Off switch. The contacts in this switch have been known to corrode and provide intermittent performance. Open the clam shell on the right clip-on and inspect and clean as necessary the switch's contacts. Secondly, it could be the side stand safety switch. This switch also is prone to failure due to its location. Road debris and such can compromise its operation. Take a look at it as well. Some times cleaing all the road debris off the switch's mechanism/contacts will make it functional again.
