Yoshi Exhaust shortening
I am remodeling my bike we will say and really want to shorten the Muffler. It is a Yoshi and is just bolted together. Is this as simple as it sounds? I don't really have the money to invest in a new pipe. Also will taking 4" out of it require me to have to retune the carbs or will it not make that much difference.

Picture is of the bike as i got It. I will get new ones on here when i am done.

The issue with the yoshi, depending on model, is one end is welded with the perforated steel in the inside and the other end is welded to a plug that fits into the end cap. You end up have to cut it in the middle to take the piece out and realistically you should have that piece at least tacked back together. Then cut down the outside tube to length, redrill holes for the bolts on the end you cut and you are in business.

Thanks. Do you think I will have to re-tune the carbs by taking out 4" and some of the packing?
