95 fzr600 braided red fuel line?

Post by jymellis »

my bike has a stock red braided fuel line coming from the middle of the carbs. it is looking pretty ragged and i was wondering if i can replace it with a piece of standard rubber fuel line? why is it the only braided line on the bike?

thanx

Yes, you can replace it with standard fuel line hose.

Not exactly sure why it has a braided exterior - maybe quicker identification?

Hi,
Engineers " best guess" abrasion resistance in a high vibration location plus stop deformation under fuel pump pressure ?

My opinion/guess as well.

That hose almost has to lay up against the engine case/starter motor...and as such may be prone to wear that the other hoses do not experience. The braid does wonders for abrasion resistance.
