The only number I see around that parts is "4NC-000382" Which do not much my frame. Also, could you explain the frame mounting thing a bit better for me? Im not sure what Im looking for. This is really weird. Oh and if another picture of something would help, let me know, I can snap a few quick pictures if needed.

Well I'm starting to think this bike is a YZF that someone stamped to be a FZR. Another tell is when I bought a new battery for the FZR600, they gave me a battery that was too tall (and possible reverse polarity, but cant confirm). So I had to take it back to get a shorter one. hmmm

Ok, looking at the fiche, it appears the frame is indeed a YZF frame, stamped to be a FZR... As far as I can tell I have a YZF, not a FZR as the title says... well crap

What you're thinking is correct. You've got a 4JH YZF600 that's been restamped as a 3HH FZR600. Somewhere along the line someone wanted to make the YZF disappear from the record and now that's what you're dealing with. There's really not a whole lot you can do now.

Here is a pic of my FZR400R frame befor I had it powdercoated as you can see it has no bottom rails that go under the engine!

If I was you I'd be looking for a YZF600 frame from a wreckers thats got good papers/title (sorry not sure how it works in US). In England everything revolves around the frame/chassis number. Colour, engine number and keepers details can all be changed but Frame number stays with the vehicle plate for life!

Yeah, I found my problem. I have a 95-ish YZF600 with a 93 FZR600 VIN banghead ... tho it looks like the VIN change was a loong time ago, so the past owner didnt know either. So looks like I'll be having this bike much longer than I expected. Either way, I have what I have and I need to get a fuel pump. I've cross referenced a much as I can, but can not find a fuel pump for my bike for under $500. I know I no longer apply to this forum, but does anyone know if the external FZR pump would work? I see those all day long for about $125, and I dont mind switching to the FZR pump if it would work.

That's pretty messed up...

Any fuel pump from a carb'd bike should do nicely.

It's a yzf alright. I would say early 95 from looking at forks and front calipers. Sucks what you have to deal with now. The yzf 750 used the same fuel pump so you may be able to find something there if you want to keep the tank with the internal pump. 96 and newer yzfs used an external pump and slightly different tank-although the tank should be a bolt on affair for you. If you were to switch to the newer tank you could then use pretty much any two wire self regualting pump that operates at 4 to 7 psi. A few people have used mr gasket pumps. Ive heard of people using vw bug pumps as well. If memory servers these fzr/yzf pumps operate at 5.5 psi. Now if you are really wanting a project, a lot of the parts (if not all) can be moved from that frame to an actual fzr frame with little effort.
