Hi all,
Found this site whilst trying to solve some starting issues on my 89 600 and it looks like people know what they're doing so thought I'd see if anyone had any pearls of wisdom on my problem. . . .
I've tried several things and currently am looking at the carbs. I have them off at the moment and have cleaned everything twice. In cleaning them I found out that someone has been fiddling with the carbs at some point in the bikes past and the starter jet on Cyl 1 was 102.5 compared to 52.5 on all the others!?!?!?!?!!? I can only guess someone had butter fingers. . . . Anyway everything else looks standard for UK - 107.5 Main, 30 Pilot, 112.5 Pilot Air, Mixture screw 3turns etc etc. The needles look a little worn, nothing too bad but thought I might as well replace them. The Mikuni needle part number is 5CFZ4 but I can't find them listed anywhere. Does anyone know where I can buy them, or should I just go the whole hog and get a Dynojet kit??
Your help is appreciated
Dave

Re: Stock Needles!!!
Generally the emulsion tubes wear out way before the needles do. They get oval causing a mid-range rich condition.
So long story short if you are going to replace the needles; do yourself a favor and replace the emulsion tubes too!

Re: Stock Needles!!!
Thanks for the reply,
Do you get the emulsion tubes as part of a Dynojet kit?
I'm really struggling to find somewhere that stocks all the parts in need
