HELP! need a reference photo of chain/swing arm clearance

Post by WSM »

so a week ago some dip plowed into my bike enough to bend the kickstand and a few other things.

including bending the peg bracket on the left side enough to cause it to rub against the chain.
or so i hope.

what freaks me out is that the tab welded to the frame, to which the peg bracket is bolted, doesn't really look all that bent.
if i bent bent it back to straight it looks like there would only be a quarter of an inch clearance with the chain still.

so what i need is a reference photo of the left & right side of where the swing arm is nearest the pegs.

i'm freaked that the dip might have bend the frame, as the right side has about 3/4" between the peg bracket & swing arm, whereas the left only has a tiny bit.

here's a shot of my left side:

hi,ive measured the distance on mine its 1/2 inch each side between the swing arm and footrest bracket and 1/2 inch from frame to gear lever.look at the footrest it should be square to the frame.if its pointing back the welded bracket is bent.check the wheel alignment to make sure the frame is not bent.hope this helps....
