Re: Engine problem - 660 conversion?
Thank you for the links. I'm gonna take photos and put a build thread up here. I'm not decided yet if I want to bore the rods or use the FZS ones. Thats a $120 difference in costs. Tomorrow ( as it's 11 PM here) I will take the head off and take a look at it and at the cylinders and pistons. The engine's only problems might be the valve seals (oil eating) and valves (not closing properly and having low compression). If those are the only problems then I will just solve those and not start the 660 build. If the rings are faulty and if it proves that they ( or them -i don't know how it's correct) are the main cause of oil burning and low compression I will start a 660 build.

Doesn't seem like there is any difference engine wise....
EDIT:

Another link to re-inforce that it seems to be still the same bike all the way through.
Do you have any information to the contrary?
ALSO... nother deal on rods...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-FZS-60 ... 4842b48168
There is also a complete FZS600 engine for 100 English Pounds... but he won't ship outside of england so a bit of a moot point.
