Carb Sync Adapters

I am trying to find out exactly what I need to use my Emgo carb sync tool for my new FZR. I have read that 6mm welding adapters work, but I am not familiar with welding, so I wondered if anyone has a picture of what I am looking for. I looked on this site, and on google, and came up with only 1 mention each. A 6 mm welding adapter - but google only spit out some plastic ones. Is this correct?

I'm not sure i have any idea what that is??? I am looking for the adapters that go into the manifold or carb boots, that allow you to hook up the carb sync tool.

I am pretty sure, if this bike is anything like my Honda, that they should be something akin to a brass nipple that screws into a port, and the carb sync hoses go over them to connect into the gauges.

Don thanks for stepping in next time I will wait long enough to read the post i just did and by the way my name is Camala but the amount of people who pronounce it Camilla or Pamala is something I just ignore.

My name is supposed have been spelled Kamala but the english official in the registry office (Trinidad was still a colony then ) could not spell since my name means "Spirit Garland " as in Ka Mala.

The WIKI section on carburetors also has a very good pic of the brass tips (link in "syncing"). I got some at Lowes for a few bucks. A good write up on how to make your own sync tool is there. I made mine same way and it worked great!

Thanks for leading me back to that page. I skipped it the first time around because I already have a carb tool.

Is there any reason my 4 gauge tool will not work correctly on these bikes? Everyone seems to be making the dual bottle type.

I'm going to be getting into the carbs after I receive my rebuild kits, but I'd rather know ahead of time if I'm going to need to build something out of frappachino bottles

I was also shocked to see the A/F screws are so tough to get to. I guess since they were not supposed to be messed with - they didn't make it easy while it's on the bike?

Man, they really made those 70's bikes carbs accessible!

The people making two-bottle rigs are those who do not already own a 4-gauge rig. If you already have a purpose-built device, by all means use it!

Thanks. I figured as much. I was just surprised I hadn't seen more mentioned on here. I'm all for DIY, but these things save some serious time. Got a great price on the too!
