Wouldn't ya know it...dead bike! EDIT

Post by nortstudio »

Well, got my bent clip on replaced, got the turn signals fixed, and decided to ride her home. Knew it might be premature, but hell, I just got her...let's see how she handles.

Rode for a couple miles on local roads, nothing fast, nothing fancy. Probably nothing out of 3rd gear or so. the bike definitely wants to hesitate at just off throttle. But I figured that was carbs slow jet.

About a mile from home - hit a large bump in the road, hear some shaking from the belly, and she just dies. No power, nothing. Checked the fuses in the dark with my phone light. Seemed ok. Key on, nada.

I have a VR on the way - knowing that they cause no lack of headaches. But the one post I read mentioned the burning smell, and I definitley didn't notice any of that. Could this be my issue already, on my first ride since owning it? Would be just my luck!

Any ideas? I'll be pushing, hoping you guys have some easy answers :)

JUST REALIZED THAT I DIDN'T CHECK WHERE THE MAIN FUSE IS, WHICH IS NOT WITH THE OTHER FUSES. SIDE OF THE ROAD, JUST LOOKED UNDER THE SEAT.

Thanks

Turns out it was just the main 30A fuse. Have to wonder why Yamaha stuck that in a harder to see location than the rest of the fuses. No help on a dark street. :)
