Complete Frame swap

Post by vmaxmike »

I have to move my entire bike off the currently untitled '93 fzr frame (it was a good deal at the time) to a '97fzr frame that I obtained and titled under my name ---gotta make it legal sometime! This ought to be fun. I don't plan any real upgrades in the process (bike is pretty much stock) beyond cleaning /painting maybe. I figure pulling the motor is probably the first major thing I need to do from the old and probably the last to install on the new. Beyond that, any suggestions as to best way to approach this seemingly huge task would be appreciated. Thanks

It's really not that hard, just take your time, take pictures, and label everything. Clean everything as you go. Also, use a torque wrench during assembly.

It's actually pretty simple. I would take this time to make sure that the new frame is completely rust-proof and sealed or repainted if necessary.
