gunna try a new regulator upgrade but need a little info! does this bike a 3 faze charging system? :rocker:

Yes, these bikes have 3-phase alternators. The bigger bikes have variable-field alternators and field controlling regulators; the 600s and smaller have permanent magnet rotors and shunt regulators.

well i tryed a few diffrent universal 3 faze regulators. worked but got VERY hot.. probly wouldnt last long. tryed one from a honda. un sure of year, make and model . would not charge past 11.5 volts. now i have a regulator fits 01-05 yamaha raptor yfm 660 yfm660 700 yfm700 rectifier. they are pentifull on ebay. CHEAP! got mine $7 on ebay. wires up just like r6 VR. works AWESOME and no overheating :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: i ride every day so if any problems i will post....
