Clutch Help
Well after i finally got my bike running great after having issues with the front end; i took a 1hr test drive today and never the less i have another issue again. If its not one thing its another but i guess thats the name of the game
.....To start off leaving my house i pull into the street in 1st and accelerated normal nothing extreme and when i went to go shift into second, i was unable to shift into second. The shift lever was rock solid and i of course engaged the clutch while doing this, i tryed to shift into neutral or second and even shift further down if i could to try to get out of first. After a few attempts at this i was able to shift into second very hard though and after that the bike will shift perfect into all the higher gears. As i came to a stop light i down shifted all the way down and put into neutral as i came to the stop sign or intersection. Again i went into 1st and as i shifted into higher gears it worked fine. Through out the ride i encountered this problem on and off and on my way back home the problem still didn't go away. I noticed throughout the drive, my clutch cable lever was not fully disengaging the clutch and it was like i was kind of shifting without any clutch. At a stop light if i didn't have the brake on, the bike would coast forward with the clutch cable lever engaged it would still happen and roll forward as if i was in the friction zone as they call it. The only thing i noticed with the bike is that the cover where the cable goes into the side of the bike, 2 bolts are missing and when you activate the clutch the cover pops out a little. These two bolts were always missing but i never had this problem.....any idea where i should start and what i should look for????

Re: Clutch Help
Well lucky for me the problem was solved easily.....i just installed the two missing bolts on the sprocket cover and the bike shifted like a great bike again.

Re: Clutch Help
Yep, if that cover is not secured, you'll can certainly run into that issue. Glad to hear you worked it out.
