1989 FZR600 Will Not Idle
for the past few weeks my bike has been starting up just fine and idling in neutral or when the clutch is held in no problem. now starting this past week my bike will not idle period. i start it and crank it and it dies after i let out the clutch. didnt do anything to it but in order to start it and keep it running i need to hold the throttle a bit back. put seafoam in the gas and its still running through the carbs so hopefully that will help. anyone have any ideas of wat else could be causing this?

If the bike dies immediately that the clutch is released, it sounds like your neutral or sidestand switches are stuck, broken, or come unplugged. This is part of the safety system that prevents you from driving off with the sidestand down.

Ok - subtle difference!
Sounds like you've gotten some crud in your carbs, and they need to be cleaned. It could also be a matter that your idle screw has backed off somewhat, dropping the idle speed below what is sustainable. Or both ...
