Seafoam motor treatment. Has anyone used this?

Post by ggradio »

So I hear this is good stuff. It says you can also add it to your oil. Has anyone used it?

Thanks

seafoam is the shit, into the gas, into the oil and into the carbs, and into the spark plug holes. run for 50 miles and replace the oil and plugs and you should be good to go

That's all I had to hear. I'll write and tell you how it does.

I used it this spring in the bike. Pour some in the carbs. Make sure the bike is warm first. Let it sit for a while. I think the bottle says 15 minutes. I let it sit for 3 hours. Start it, and see the smoke show.

I would put it in the carbs. But I live in the city and don't have a place to work on my bike. I'm hoping putting some in the gas tank will help clean the carbs. Im not sure how much to put in the crank case though. Any idea how much to add with the oil?

Or is there a way to pour it in the carbs without removing the tank cover? Plus I really don't have any tools.

Yeah, you have to pull the tank cover to pour it in. You can just run it in the gas. It's not as effective that way, but still does wonders.

Sorry, I missed the crank case oil. I think the side of the can tells you. I don't know off the top of my head.

Straight off the web page.

To clean built-up oil residues and contamination from the crank case, add 1½ oz. Sea Foam® to each quart of engine oil.  Sea Foam® will slowly re-liquefy residues and suspend contaminants for easy removal. Monitor oil for color and clarity and  change oil and replace filter when oil looks dirty.

Good stuff guys. I used about half the bottle. A little in the crank case and the rest in the tank. But I only rode about 10miles after adding. I'll be putting about an hour of riding in tomorrow, so hopefully I feel a diference. I've never seen a product with so many applications. It's like a tune-up in a bottle.

Thanks again

if your just adding to the oil your not going to notice any differences. Adding it to the oil will only help clean the crankcase. Adding to the gas will help clean some of the tank, carbs, and the jets, and a little of the intake/valves. adding it into the carbs will clean the intake, top of cylinder and the valves. Adding under the spark plugs cleans the cylinder walls, pistons, and rings. your really should do them all together, then replace the spark plugs and the oil after 100 miles and dumping into the carbs. the tank caver is super easy.

Yes. I put about 3 caps full into each carb. Make sure the engine is warm. It works better.
