Re: Got a metal something stuck in my tire.
Any small automotive tire shops in your area? There's a place by me that I go to that sell used tires for cars. I take in my wheels and new tires and they pop off the old ones and slip on the new ones for a total of about $20. Sometimes they do it for free. I had them put on a new tire and a couple hundred miles later i had a screw in it. Took the wheel in and they unmounted the tire, patched it from the inside, and remounted it for me. I still have that tire on and it doesn't lose any pressure. Nice guys. Something to look into.

Re: Got a metal something stuck in my tire.
I actually have an in with a local shop that would probably do it for me, I didn't know if a regular (non-MC) shop would be able to do a MC tire. Not a huge deal anymore, I'm getting a whole new wheel from cad600.
What is the party line on patching tubeless tires? None of the [MC] shops around here do it; I'm not sure if that's because it's unsafe or just because they want to sell me a new tire for $170. If it's a safe practice I would try patching that other tire just to have it around, it still has tons of thread left on it.

Re: Got a metal something stuck in my tire.
I think the dealers don't patch just to cover their asses and I'm sure they don't mind selling you a new tire because of it. The place I take my MC wheels to usually starts to tell me that they can't do MC tires, but there's a guy there that knows how to go about it. I do notice that when they're putting on the tire that it gives them a little more trouble than an automotive tire, but they've never bent my rim. The funny thing is is that when they put air in it to set the bead, most of the guys that are around jump when the bead sets. Guess they're not used to it being that loud.
