MY FIRST BIKE :)

Post by gt5094stang »

Hey guys, im new to the forum and just purchased a 92 fzr about 3 months ago. To give a little history on the bike, i bought the bike for $600 not running. I am mechanicly inclined and work at a shop so i brough the bike to my job and any free time i had it was all dedicated to getting the bike started. Long story short the bike had no spark; put a new battery cleaned all connection everywhere tested power to all and ohmed what was needed. Found out the stupid flasher relay is a main ground and was bad. Took the relay out and the bike started right up. $100 between battery, coils, relay, and i rebuild the carbs i have a total of $700 into a great running bike. I already has the air tech tail and i install a f3 wheel to the rear. Its a pretty easy mod that people make seam very difficult which its not. All you do is find an f3 wheel and f3 shaft an f3 caliper hanger with caliper and your good to go. Just open up the slider adjusters and have a machine shop hone out the adjusters and your good to go. costed me $10 bucs for the machine shop and i had dremel to open the slider adjusters on the swing arm. Little by little working here and there on the bike i wanted a high mount exhaust. Found a guy on craigslist and traded him my seats for his brand new yoshi exhaust. Of course i had to customize the exhaust to make it fit but it worked out awsome. COuldnt tell you the make of what the pipe was for but all i did was put the can on the other end of the pipe and made it into a high mount for my bike. Next on the list is paint and i want the yamaha blue.

Now for some Pictures:
Heres some pics of the bike of how i want it to look like
How the bike started out
The muffler i got from Craigslist
And the bike as it stands right now

Hope to get into the forum alot more and i realy like the bike.

Nice bike for what ya paid. I'm really digging the last pic with the way the tail is and the can following the contour of it.

Well i guess the final thing im doing next is paint schemes......I posted a picture of the bike painted yamaha blue. tryin to get different ideas of what i can do graphic wise. I dont want standard logos or anything tryin to do somethin different that doesn't involve air brushing though. I definatly what the base solid color to be blue and try to add maybe some type of homemade designed graphic that would flow with the bike......

any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated..... pics if anything to go with the idea to
