Metal Casings

Post by em2evol »

Hi guys

My bike has been over in the past it would seem - the casings on both sides are scuffed. I believe one of the casings is the clutch cover (with the oil screw thing in the top) but what's the one on the other side? Also, are the bar ends standard fitment? I'm looking to put some universal Oxford bar ends on, so just wanted to check they'd fit before buying :-)

Thanks!

Em

The one on the left side is the Stator cover.

Most all clip-ons are 7/8" tubing and should take universal bar ends.

Ah thanks for that... I've been an idiot though - the right hand side one, upon looking again last night, is the small one that pokes out of the fairing, not the one with Yamaha written on it... Which is this? It's hard to serach for parts when I don't know what I'm looking for... Idiot! :duh:

That is the starter clutch cover or what most call the "Peanut" cover. If you do any Track Days, I would recommend a heavy duty after-market unit like one from NRC Racing.
