Triangular casting above oil filter
Can I drill a hole through it? I'm working on a custom lower radiator mount and that is where I plan to fasten the bracket. I know a few guys have used the header studs but the rad sits too low for that to work.

Sure, if there's nothing there, why not? IIRC, I used that spot as an anchor for safety-wire on my 400.

Not really sure why the pic is sideways... I changed it in the gallery "editor" but whatever. I didn't think there would be an issue, especially since the bottom is already kinds bored out but I didn't know if it had some kind of "special significance" or not. I need to get the angle drill and then I'm off to make some aluminum shavings!!!
