did you push the inner all the way in and give it a good yank? i tried to give mine a good few yanks, then i pushed it all the way in and one good yank and it came right out. if that doesn't work i dont really know what else to tell ya. make sure you got the lower part in a vice or have someone else hold on real tight. it should come right out.

hi,

OEM rules unless you know a seal maker and give them the spec and let them advise you as to the fit they work with. The aftermarket junk is not tight enough and I do not know any one who supplies dust caps, springs and seals as a Kit they are all sold separately.

Go to your stealership and buy the seals you are wasteing time with the stuff you have you will be rebuilding in days unless you are real lucky, read the board & the archives you will see many tales of woe.

damn.

They worked great when I did my old Yamaha Vision forks.

as usualy YMMV model to model on parts eh.

wonder how soon the dealer can get me them. Better cover up the bike as it sounds like it'll be sitting with no front for a while canofworms

H,
you may get lucky but where you get hassle is when the mould they use gets worn and starts producing off tolerance stuff, OUE get checked every few K products as they know yamaha will pull their contract if they produce crap in their name.

We had a batch of OEM mirrors that lost their plating on the glass very quickly in tropical air Yamaha went nuts and we got our money back on the 100 sets we bought PLUS we got a new shipment for free and letters of apology all round from Yamaha , agents, makers the works.

We were under strict instruction to RECALL all bikes fitted and replace at no cost to the end user. Yamaha are VERY big on their quality & their Reputation.
