new to fzr600 questions
I am new to the FZR 600. The person I traded with for this bike said that she believed it would need a top end rebuild and clutch set. The bike has been sitting in the garage for about 5 years. She did not have a key for it. Is there anyway to check the compression without starting it? I know all fluids need to be dumped and etc.. But I dont want to invest the money into the rest of the bike until I hear it run and make sure i will not have to put another engine in it. Any suggestions would be very helpful

wamearth,
You will have to crank the engine with the starter to check compression. If you do not have a good battery you can use jumper cables from a NON RUNNING CAR OR TRUCK. You will have to figure out how to hot wire it or get voltage to the starter relay. You will need a wiring diagram which you can find here: http://www.fzronline.com/wiki/doku.php?id=fzr600
