My new FZR

Post by macker »

Hi Guys

I bought a project for myself in the form of a FZR600 1990, first thing ive done is got all the service bits, also, it didnt come with a starter, it had a blanker in where starter goes, i have removed it and also removed casing to reveal, it has nothing! can anyone tell me whats needed to get a fully functional starter in this? also, what quantity of engine oil does it take? thanks guys

You'll need the starter & the starter clutch, here's the parts fiche STARTER CLUTCH Partslist Your best bet would be if someone is parting out a damaged engine.

Oil quantity is 2.2 litres, or 2.5 litres with filter change, There's a window in the clutch cover, with the bike upright the level should be half way up the glass.

It seems weird that the started motor is missing, was this a race bike? I ask because if it was, you may want to check the stator to see if it was running a total loss system as it will not charge your battery when you get it running.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.
