Regarding FZR Paint

Post by duckling »

My bike came with several layers of flaking black over orange over primer paint on the frame, and I am paitiently scraping/stripping it to get back to factory original silver. I know the engine was at least partially the same silver and maybe some plain aluminum. On the engine, just where is the paint and where is it bare? Thanks, guys

Hi,
I can only tell you what I found on my 92 600 (91 us model year thanks Brandon ) I have only found silver paint on cases & frame. A close match to Yamaha's colour is Peugeot Aluminium car paint

Agreed

I painted my chopped up ground up subframe with Peugeot Aluminium car paint, It matches. Without Geo's, yeah fork mod page I would be still :headscratch:

 Geo.

Question is, again: Where, on the engine, is there bare aluminum, and where is there the silver paint?

Only the engine side covers are painted. Everything else is bare aluminum.

I cannot see any ambiguity in that answer
